F:X Pro Reverse GND8 square wave filter

The Rollei F:X Pro Reverse GND 8 (3 stops/0.9) is ours vice versa Graduated gray filter. GND stands for Graduated Neutral Density, which means a filter with a transition from tint to transparency. These filters are partially coated in neutral gray, which can compensate for differences in brightness in the image. Normally, the coating on GND filters would run out to one side. However, reverse means that the course of the tint (coating) is reversed. This means that the coating is particularly thick in the middle of the filter and is soft on one side of the filter but very hard on the other side.

You can use the F:X Pro Reverse GND8 for these motifs:

• Sunrise and sunset
• Beach motifs
• Subjects with a horizon where there is a lot of brightness in the middle

GNDs are used (unlike normal ND filters) for subjects where the brightness conditions have a certain progression and therefore require different exposures for an evenly exposed image. The ideal place to use a Reverse GND would be, for example, a picture in which the sun can be seen and where clear lines dominate the picture.

We offer our Reverse GND 8 in the Size 100 x 150 millimeters (100 mm rectangular filter system) at. It has a density of 0.9 and 3 stops in the middle, darkened area. A stop means that the amount of light hitting the sensor decreases by one f-stop.
